Honda unveils next-generation Civic five-door

Honda has released the first images of the all-new Civic five-door, the 11th generation of the brand's class-leading hatchback.

The new Honda Civic Sport Line delivers Type R inspired styling

The 2021 Honda Civic includes a range of styling upgrades and interior enhancements first introduced to the range in 2020.

The new elegant, symmetrical lower front grille and smoothed surfaces around the fog lights are complemented by redesigned LED daytime running lights that follow the dynamic lines of the sleek new styling blades. The textured interior panels deliver a sophisticated, premium ambience, whilst Honda's intuitive connected infotainment system connects the driver with the car seamlessly and incorporates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Honda will be at the forefront of both safety and competition when the WTCR - FIA World Touring Car Cup season gets underway, with the new Civic Type R Limited Edition becoming the Official Safety Car of the series for 2020.

Honda's Civic rose to the top again at the Company Car Today's CCT100 Awards, taking Lower Medium Car of the Year for the third year running. Chosen from a pool of 100 cars, it was named amongst the twenty award-winners that represent the very best company car choices for business fleets across various automotive segments.

Edging out the likes of the BMW 1-Series, Mercedes A-Class and Volvo V40, the Civic's victory is no mean feat. In eclipsing the competition, the Civic attained a higher overall score across a range of metrics - such as performance, residual value and insurance cost - by which the judging panel assessed the contenders' company car credentials.

Honda has introduced a new Sport Line model to its 2020 Civic line-up, featuring exterior design cues inspired by the acclaimed Type R. The new Sport Line model is available in a top of the range model EX - and adds assertive styling to the outstanding driving dynamics and practicality of the standard Civic.

The refreshed Civic builds on the car's purposeful silhouette and muscular stance by adding a new elegant, symmetrical lower front grille around the fog lights, with smoothed surfaces and sleek styling blades. A simpler grille beam configuration and new air-intake design give the front profile a cleaner, more aerodynamic design.

Team Dynamics Motorsport and Ralph Hosier Engineering unveiled two very different versions of the Honda Civic Type R at the 2019 SMMT Test Day. Held at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, the annual event sees over 300 journalists test drive a range of manufacturer cars.

The new Honda Civic is built at Swindon

Honda of the UK Manufacturing (HUM) has today informed associates (employees) of the proposal to close its Swindon vehicle manufacturing plant, at the end of the current model's production life cycle, in 2021. The plant currently produces 150,000 cars per year, and employs circa 3,500 associates.

The new Civic 126PS Sport Line

The new Civic Sport Line is based on the Civic 126PS VTEC Turbo SR, with additional gloss black side skirts and front splitter and matt black rear diffuser. The window surrounds and door mirror caps are also finished in gloss black. The modern sporty look is continued inside with a black leather trim.

Team Honda has triumphed in the annual MPG Marathon taking home a hat-trick of titles. The Civic diesel hatchback claimed the overall winner's prize in this year's event as well as best percentage improvement on MPG, while the first generation 17 year old Honda Insight took second place overall and winner in the heritage category.
