Honda SENSING Advanced Safety Standards
Contents
Honda SENSING is now standard across the Honda range, it's a suite of advanced technological features created to assist you as you drive, keeping you and your passengers safe, and includes the following features1:
Road Departure Mitigation and Traffic Sign Recognition
A windscreen mounted camera detects whether the car is veering off the road and uses the Electric Power Steering to apply subtle corrections to keep your vehicle in lane. In certain conditions, it can also apply the brakes. The Traffic Sign Recognition identifies traffic signs and relays this information to you via a visual display.
Lane Keep Assist and Collision Mitigation Braking System
For a less stressful driving experience, Lane Keep Assist System reduces the need for steering correction movements and driving effort on the motorway. If there's a possibility of a collision with a vehicle or a pedestrian the Collision Mitigation Braking System will alert you while reducing your speed to help minimise the severity of any impact.
Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow and intelligent-Adaptive Cruise Control
Both systems maintain a set cruising speed and a safe following distance from the vehicle in front. With Low Speed Following, if the detected vehicle comes to a stop, your Honda will decelerate and stop without you having to apply the brake. Then simply click the button on the steering wheel to resume. With intelligent-Adaptive Cruise Control, if a vehicle driving in an adjacent lane intends to cut in front of you, your Honda predicts this and adjusts the speed automatically. When the danger has passed, the vehicle will increase back to the set speed.
Cross Traffic Monitor and Blind Spot Information
Radar sensors for the Cross Traffic Monitor are situated at the side rear-quarters of the vehicle to warn you of approaching vehicles when reversing. Blind Spot Information uses radar technology to automatically detect vehicles in your blind spot, alerting you via a warning symbol in the door mirror (available on certain models.)
