The Honda e:Ny1 - warm and defrosted before you get in
On cold winter mornings, the Honda e:Ny1 takes the hassle out of getting ready to drive.
Using the remote key, the car can begin preparing itself before you step outside, clearing the windscreen, warming the cabin and heating key touchpoints so everything is ready when you open the door.
It is a simple feature that makes everyday electric driving far more comfortable when temperatures drop.
How it works
- Press the lock button on the remote.
- Within about five seconds, press and hold the climate (fan) button on your remote.
- Some exterior lights flash and then after a few seconds flash again six times to confirm the system has been activated.
What activates in winter
When used in cold conditions, the system prepares the car by:
- Defrosting the front windscreen
- Activating automatic climate defrosting
- Switching on the rear window demister
- Heating the front seats
- Heating the steering wheel
This means no scraping, no sitting in a freezing car and no waiting for the cabin to warm up.
The remote climate pre-conditioning system can be customised via the EV Menu inside the vehicle, allowing drivers to tailor how it operates to suit their preferences, and in summer, the same function pre-cools the cabin, so the car is comfortable before you get in.
Energy use and range
As with any climate pre-conditioning feature, using this system does consume energy and will have an impact on driving range. Many drivers choose to use it while the vehicle is plugged in, as this can help preserve battery charge before setting off.

This winter comfort feature is available on both the Honda e:Ny1 and previously on the Honda e, making it a practical and welcome benefit across Honda’s electric range.
