Trident Honda installs a defibrillator to protect its staff and customers

Following the redevelopment of its showroom, Trident Honda has now installed a fully automatic defibrillator in its customer reception area, for the protection of its staff and customers.
Richard Roberts, managing director of Trident Honda, explains:
Whilst we have never experienced a cardiac arrest on our premises in our 55 years of trading, nevertheless it would seem 'heartless' to forego this simple and affordable protection for our staff and customers. It is very unusual in business to purchase an item in the hope that it will never be used, but it is very reassuring to know that, should the worst should happen, we have the equipment to potentially save a life.
The unit that we purchased is a HeartSine Samaritan PAD 360P Fully Automatic AED Defibrillator, chosen for its simplicity of operation and maintenance.
What is an AED defibrillator
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a lightweight, portable device that delivers an electric shock through the chest to the heart. The shock can potentially stop an irregular heart beat (arrhythmia) and allow a normal rhythm to resume following sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
