Emergency gas main repairs on A320 Guildford Road in Ottershaw

Emergency gas main road closures

Emergency gas main road closures

Trident Honda is open as usual, but with access only from the Otter roundabout.

After a week of crippling roadworks in Ottershaw, for emergency gas main repairs, thankfully the team at Cadent Gas have changed the road closures to a one-way system starting at the Otter roundabout and continuing to the McLaren roundabout.

The new one-way system is now in operation, as follows:

  • Traffic is permitted southbound (i.e. from the direction of the M25, towards Woking).
  • Northbound traffic is subject to diversion (down Martyrs Lane and towards New Haw).

The good news is that this means that Trident is accessible from the Otter roundabout; although customers will be forced to head towards Woking on their departure.

Previously a three-way traffic light system has been in operation, which had had a devastating impact, with traffic queued back to Weybridge and the M25, and there had been a particular problem for those coming from Chobham on the A319, which had been closed at the Ottershaw roundabout.

Whilst the roadworks remain a serious inconvenience, we understand that these are emergency repairs to investigate multiple reports of gas leaks.
