Downslink Challenge raises over £130,000 to date

Leading the way in hospice care, Woking Hospice cares for 2,000 patients, their carers and families every year. In its seventh year, The Downslink Challenge continues to support the hospice, by hosting a number of events to raise money for the charity in celebration of the great work it does for the care it delivers across Surrey.

Trident Honda has supported the events from the beginning. Richard Roberts, Managing Director says:

“As a business we absolutely love supporting enthusiastic community events, and having personally ridden in the cycle event the last couple of years, it's a fantastic day's riding, mostly off road, from Brighton to Knaphill. Well done to all the team for another great year's support for a wonderful charity!”

The annual Downslink Challenge events include a Quiz night, the main cycle event and a Gin Festival and are supported by many local businesses with each event bringing the community together to raise much needed funds for the Hospice and a yearly guest charity.

The final event of the year, The Downslink Gin Festival, was held on Saturday 12^th November with 87 attendees sampling 10 fabulous gins, many from local distillers. This event added an additional £4,159 to this year's total and, despite this year being tough financially for everyone, we are delighted to have raised £21,659 bringing our total since 2016 to over £130,000!

The Gin Festival, Challenge and Century Ride with Family Fun Day hosted by The Garibaldi pub and Quiz Night are great events that enable families to come together to celebrate a worthy cause, making the most of the precious time they have together.”
