New Honda Civic Sport Line delivers Type R-inspired styling

Honda has introduced a new Sport Line model to its 2020 Civic line-up, featuring exterior design cues inspired by the acclaimed Type R. The new Sport Line model is available in a top of the range model EX - and adds assertive styling to the outstanding driving dynamics and practicality of the standard Civic.

Standout sporty design
The Civic's distinctive design is enhanced on the Sport Line with the addition of front and side skirts, rear diffuser and a subtle rear spoiler paying homage to Honda's sporting heritage. 17" alloy wheels in a high-gloss, piano black finish further differentiate the Sport Line. The addition of full LED headlights and daytime running lights build upon the cleaner styling direction that will feature across the Civic line-up.
Adding to the range of existing colour options for all Civics, Sport Line can also be finished in a stand-out new paint finish, Obsidian Blue.
Interior updates
As with the exterior design enhancements, a number of styling upgrades feature on the interior of the new Sport Line variants beyond those being introduced across the 2020 model year Civic range. New to the Sport Line is red stitching detail on the seats, steering wheel, gear shift boot and door panels whilst drilled aluminium pedals reflect Honda's illustrious sporting heritage.
Sport Line offers the Honda CONNECT infotainment system as standard which incorporates DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system integrates with a reversing camera on the top grade.
The Civic Sport Line has been developed to deliver a compelling blend of sporty appeal, value, and efficiency and is equipped with Honda's highly-efficient, yet powerful 1.0 litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine. The VTEC Turbo unit produces an impressive 126 PS and 200 Nm of torque, with CO2 emissions as low as 128-152 combined CO2 and fuel economy of 42.2mpg to 47.1mpg on the WLTP cycle. Sport Line variants will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or latest-generation CVT with paddle shift.
As with all Civic models, Sport Line includes an industry-leading suite of active safety technologies that helped the car earn top ratings in Euro NCAP tests.The safety features are complemented by advanced Honda SENSING active safety and driver assist technologies, installed as standard. The safety system incorporates Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System and Traffic Sign Recognition. Top grade models also include Blind Spot Information including Cross Traffic Monitor, and Low Speed Following functions.
Priced from £25,510 for manual, and £26,910 for CVT variants, customers can test drive the new Civic Sport Line models from December 2019, with deliveries starting in January 2020.
