Honda tyre deflation warning system user guide

Maintaining the correct tyre pressure is important for the safety, performance and economy of your Honda. Low tyre pressure will not only adversely affect fuel economy, it will also increase stopping distances and reduce steering response and vehicle stability. EU Directive 661/2009 requires all passenger vehicles registered after 1st November 2014 to be equipped with a tyre deflation warning system.

If you have a tyre deflation warning on your dashboard, which looks a little like horseshoe icon, then it is important to stop the car and check your tyre pressures, adjusting each to the correct pressure shown on the information sticker in the driver's door shut.

Your Honda is likely to have an electric tyre pump with pressure gauge located in your boot. These are powered from your cigarette lighter.

Once your tyres have been checked and adjusted, you must reinitialise the deflation warning system by following the instructions below:

Lifting the Front Wiper Arms

Most newer Honda models have windscreen wipers that park below the bonnet line. Whilst this is more aerodynamic and saves fuel, it makes it impossible to lift the wipers away from the windscreen without damaging either the bonnet or the wipers themselves.

This is why newer Honda models have a clever feature to allow you to raise the windscreen wipers away from the glass when the car is switched off.

This feature is especially useful in cold or icy weather, as it helps prevent the wipers from freezing to the windscreen and reduces the risk of damaging the blades or wiper mechanism.
