The Honda e with charger

Honda is further accelerating its electrification plans for Europe by moving forward its goal for all of its European mainstream models to feature electrified powertrains by 2022. The bold new target announced during an 'Electric Vision' event in Amsterdam, is three years ahead of the previously announced 2025 goal, demonstrating the confidence Honda has in its electric and hybrid powertrain technology.

This acceleration will see 6 electrified models launched over the next 36 months, with the Honda e and new hybrid-only Jazz leading the way.

Two CR-Vs in a mountain terrain

Honda UK has released details of the grades, specification and pricing of the next generation CR-V. Launched last month, the new CR-V will start from £25,995 for a 2WD manual S grade and top out at £36,455 for an AWD EX with CVT.

  • Pricing to start from £25,995 for entry level 2WD and top out at £36,455 for top spec CVT
  • Grades follow previous generation with S, SE, SR and EX
  • PCP example of £279 for mid-level SR manual in AWD

Available in dealer showrooms from early September, the new CR-V follows the grading of the previous generation rising from the entry level S grade to SE, SR and finishing at the top of the range EX. The 1.5 i-VTEC petrol engine will come with a choice of two and all-wheel drive and in both manual transmission and CVT.

Three of Honda's cleanest cars will compete in the very first RAC Future Car Challenge in November. The new Honda Jazz Hybrid has been entered in the Brighton to London event, alongside the hydrogen-powered FCX Clarity fuel cell car and a sporty hybrid CR-Z.

Starting at Madeira Drive in Brighton, the Future Car Challenge uses the traditional 60 mile veteran car run route, but in reverse. The three Honda cars will be retracing the route taken by Honda Motor founder, Soichiro Honda, when he tackled the London to Brighton event in 1985.
