HONDA IS promising a further hybrid model into the UK within the next two years. At the same time it will also bring a small number of the FCX fuel cell car around the same time.

We will have a more financially accessible hybrid available by 2009. We have no idea of the size of the hybrid market right now, we just know that right now we can't meet demand,

Following customer feedback on our customer car parking, we held a meeting to review ways of improving our parking. One result of this meeting was the introduction of a valet parking attendant at peak times. This was launched on Thursday 3 May and is proving very popular with our customers, as well as improving the general parking.

Weybridge has a more serious problem, given the town centre location and the limited space available, and we are therefore recruiting a full-time parking attendant. We hope to have this new member of staff available in the coming weeks and feel sure that this will greatly improve the customer experience on arrival.

The Environmental Transport Association named the hybrid as the overall winner for the second year in a row and also as the winner of the family car category.

Unsurprisingly, the list of most polluting cars was dominated by models from the sports luxury sector. Lamborghini took the bottom two places with its Diablo Roadster and Murcielago Roadster models. The Ferrari Supermerica was rated as the third most polluting.

In the latest ranking from the Union of Concerned Scientists, the US pressure group, the Japanese brand topped the table for the fourth time in a row.

It narrowly beat Toyota, which was commended for making cuts in global warming pollution. Hyundai-Kia was placed third, followed by Nissan and Volkswagen. The US car-makers fared poorly with Ford in sixth place ahead of General Motors and Daimler-Chrysler, which was ranked as the least environmentally friendly manufacturer.

HONDA IS supplying ammunition to drivers of its 4x4s in the first concerted effort by a car-maker to combat the growing antagonism towards gas-guzzlers.

The Swindon maker is to send a letter and stickers to all new customers of the new CR-V to help them defend themselves from 4x4 detractors. It is a direct response to concerned Honda customers asking for help, says the car-maker.
