Our chairman Michael Roberts and his wife Valerie Roberts have today retired from the Trident board of directors, after 35 years at the wheel.

Michael and Valerie Roberts founded the business in 1963, before retiring from an executive role in 1996 - when their son, Richard Roberts took over as managing director.

In addition to Richard Roberts, our board of directors now comprises Roy Hubbard our sales director and Steve Henderson our commercial director.

We are delighted to announce that our parts supervisor, Martin Williams, completed his 30th year of service on Wednesday.

Martin joined us in 1989 at the age of 30, recruited to the role of Senior Parts Person, under our parts supervisor Ian Essex. At the time our managing director was still our founder - Michael Roberts, and Trident Honda was an Austin Rover main dealer selling Austin Metro, Maestro, Montego, Rover 200 (based on the Honda Ballade) and the new Rover 800 (based on the Honda Legend). Trident Honda had celebrated its 25th anniversary in the previous year.

My interview was with MR (Michael Roberts) and afterwards he brought me down and introduced me to Ian. Ian and myself were very similar in attitude and outlook and we got on straight from the start.

The Honda CR-Z has been rated one of Europe's safest cars, achieving a maximum 5-stars in the latest independent crash testing results from Euro NCAP.

Euro NCAP's rating scheme focuses on the vehicle's overall safety performance which gives consumers an easy to understand single score. The system considers occupant protection in frontal, side, pole and rear impacts, child protection, pedestrian protection and the availability of driver aids.

The Honda Racing Team today officially announced that drivers Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden will once again be behind the wheel of the Honda Racing Civics for the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The strong partnership of twice BTCC champion Matt Neal and Gordon 'Flash' Shedden will build on the successful 2010 season for the Honda Racing Team. Both drivers were in contention until the final round at Brands Hatch earlier this month where they narrowly missed out in the fight for the Drivers' crown, finishing in second and third spot respectively.

Trident Honda sponsored this year's Scout May Fayre which was held on the 3rd May at the Wheatsheaf Common in Woking.

Staff also took part in the bank holiday festivities and ran a competition to win a Honda lawn mower. Entrants had to guess how many balloons filled up a Honda Jazz and Jamie Anderson was the lucky winner with his guess of 107!

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning, held on Friday 28th September, was a great success. We had so many staff making cakes that we realised that we would have to extend the event to the Saturday morning, but in the event we were selling cakes throughout the weekend and into the following week. The event raised a magnificent £363.50.
