The Accord i-DTEC automatic will go on sale in January 2009 priced from £22,400. Honda will launch its first automatic transmission for a diesel engine in 2009, with the new gearbox featuring in the Accord.
The Japanese manufacturer expects automatic transmission in the Accord to appeal to a new segment of customers, particularly in the corporate market, where it considers high mileage user choosers often will only consider an automatic transmission.

Honda has unveiled the new Honda SENSING 360 omnidirectional safety and driver-assistive system which removes blind spots around the vehicle and contributes to collision avoidance and the reduction of driver burden while driving. Honda has unveiled an all-new ASIMO humanoid robot with a world-first technology allowing ASIMO to move without being controlled by an operator. With significantly improved intelligence and the physical ability to adapt to situations, ASIMO has taken another step closer to practical use in an office or public space.
Honda has also introduced a new task-performing robot arm. This experimental model was developed while applying multi-joint and posture control technologies to ASIMO. This robot arm can be controlled remotely to perform tasks in places which are difficult for people to access.
