Honda has confirmed pricing for its highly anticipated all-new Civic Type R. The latest Type R follows a long tradition of high-performance vehicles inspired by the spirit of racing, pushing the boundaries of performance in a front-wheel drive car. Despite its performance-focused upgrades, the new Type R builds on the human-centred approach to dynamics, design, and usability that Honda engineered into the 11th generation Civic.

We recently announced that Honda's iconic Civic is celebrating 50 years of continuous production this year, but there is a second Civic-related anniversary - the Civic Type R is celebrating 25 years of production.

The Civic Type R rewrote the rulebook on what a hot hatch should be and embodies the Type R philosophy, thanks to exquisite engineering and engaging dynamics. Honda has unveiled the all-new Civic Type R as it celebrates 25 years of the brand's iconic high-performance hatchback - and 50 years of Civic. The new Type R has been engineered to deliver the most exhilarating Civic Type R experience to date, building on a long tradition of performance cars inspired by the spirit of racing.

Available in Europe from early 2023, the Civic Type R is already setting new benchmarks, recently breaking the front-wheel drive lap record at Suzuka Circuit in Japan. As part of its development, Honda engineers refined every aspect of the new model, including design enhancements that improve aerodynamic performance. Lightweight components and powertrain revisions have created the most responsive and powerful Type R ever.

Honda has released its first teaser image of the all-new Civic Type R, ahead of its World Premiere at 3am (BST) on Thursday 21st July 2022. This global unveil will showcase the car ahead of its arrival in Europe in early 2023.

Honda's next-generation Civic Type R has set a new lap record for a front-wheel drive car at the world-famous Suzuka Circuit in Japan. It lapped the 5.8km track in 2 minutes 23.120 seconds, 0.873 seconds faster than its predecessor, the stripped back 2021 Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition.
