Christopher Roberts has been appointed Finance Director of Trident Garages Ltd.

Christopher joined Trident in 1991, aged 23, following completion of a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies. He initially joined the company at a time when Trident was experiencing significant accounting and systems difficulties following the implementation of the Kerridge Autoline dealer management system.

His early work concentrated on bringing the company's accounting records and management information up to date, including the reconciliation of the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, the introduction of regular bank reconciliations and cashbook controls, and the restoration of monthly management accounts.

He was subsequently appointed Accounts & Systems Manager, with responsibility for both the company's financial systems and its wider computer systems.

His appointment as Finance Director reflects the increasing importance of financial management and information systems within the business.

In April 1994, Trident took a significant step in its development with the acquisition of the former Red Cross Centre in Ottershaw.

The purchase of this well-known local site provided an important opportunity to expand the business and strengthen its presence within the village. Its location, close to the existing premises, allowed Trident to grow in a way that remained closely connected to the community it had long served.

The additional space offered greater flexibility for future development, supporting the continued evolution of the business as customer expectations and vehicle technology advanced.
