We realise that some months has passed since the 6th Woking Rotary Swimathon on Sunday 13 October 2013, without our having published details.

More than 270 people took part, with 48 teams of up to six, sponsored by family and friends to swim for 55 minutes each hour between 9am and 7pm at the Pool in the Park with the aim to raise up to £9000 for local charities. Each swimmer averaged between 10 and 20 lengths.

It's going to be a Happy Christmas for Mrs Anne McShane from Shepperton who scooped the top prize, a Honda Jazz, in Woking & Sam Beare Hospices Car Raffle. The second prize, a brand new Honda scooter, was won by Horsell resident Mrs Ann Hefernan. Both vehicles were sponsored by local car retailer Trident Honda, with sites in Ottershaw and Weybridge, and Lottery Manager Kelly Newell went along with some of her dedicated car raffle volunteers to accept the keys on behalf of the lucky winners.

The beautiful weather certainly made for a wonderful Pyrford Flower Show. Our stand was ideally positioned next to the Woking & Sam Beare Hospices Win-a-Car stand, which attracted much interest. It was great to meet so many Trident Honda customers and to take the opportunity to show of our wonderful range of cars, including the new CR-V and Civic 1.6 Diesel.

At the weekend over a thousand riders took part in the return of the Woking Bikeathon and the events return can only be described as a huge success!

The event was made possible by the sponsors, Trident Honda of Ottershaw & Weybridge, Bourne Valley Garden Centre, Barlow Robbins Solicitors and Freedom Leisure, working in conjunction with Woking Borough Council. Help was also provided by The Woking Advertiser, who came in as the event's media partner and were a great support throughout the build up to the event, as well as attending the event itself.

Trident Honda is delighted to announce that the Woking & Sam Beare Hospice Raffle starts again this Saturday; the launch will be in the Peacocks Centre in Woking, outside H&M, at 10.00am on Saturday 23rd March.

This year is a little different though. To help celebrate both Trident Honda's 50th Anniversary and the 20th Anniversary of the Hospice Car Raffle, Trident Honda have not only sponsored the first prize of the Honda Jazz 1.2S, but also a second prize of a Honda NCS50R scooter!

We are very proud that last night our Managing Director Richard Roberts was presented with the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, an award rarely given to someone outside of the Rotary organisation.

It was awarded for the many years of charity work and support given by Richard in his role both as Managing Director of Trident Garages and outside in his personal life. At the ceremony, attended by a number of Woking's charity organisations, Richard said:

In 2013 the Woking Bikeathon is going to make a return to the town. The Bikeathon, which was last run in 2011 and had previously run for over 20 years in the town, previously exclusively on behalf of Leukaemia Research, is being resurrected in 2013 for local charities.

The Rotary Club of Woking will be masterminding the event, with Terry Smith, the clubs events chairman saying:
